Welcome!

Hello,
My name is Levi Thomas.
I am worried about the classic heavy issues of the day, the stuff that’s always on the news (in the subtext usually), peak oil, climate change, environmental collapse, economic slavery, war over resources etc... Living with this information has led me to seek out unconventional and alternative ways of doing things, in the hope of gaining some resilience and relying less on money as a means to live. Most of my efforts early on sprang from a place of anger and frustration, I was angry at the world, the way it ran and the way things were done so I set out to find out how to do everything I needed to survive myself. Naïve as it sounds, it nevertheless started what I don’t doubt will be a lifelong journey of learning and experimentation.
This blog is a sharing and celebration of the stuff I am learning. At the moment that includes reading through the mountain of permaculture literature, solar cooking, apartment style gardening, foraging, eating weeds, preserving food, reusing greywater, growing as much useful stuff as I can, nutrition and cooking, amazing new scientific discoveries about the brain and reality, horticulture and the most amazing things about fungi in the classic ‘Mycelium running’ by Paul Stamets.
Incidentally as I learn more and more about living within nature’s abundance, the laws of the biosphere and simpler ways of living, I get less and less angry and frustrated and feel more and more empowered, free and happy. Pursuing a lifestyle that is sustainable, creative and with a strong degree of self reliance is clearly the way to go, if only to learn more about life,
For Lifes Sake
 Happy reading,
Levi
